roasted daikon fries

Directions:

Wash and peel daikon. Cut them into the shape you like. I cut them into french fry shape sticks
Place daikon into a bowl and cover with salt, mix and leave for 30 minutes to release moisture. After 30 minutes, drain the excess moisture, put the daikon sticks on a paper towel or kitchen towel, and dry.
Place the daikon in a bowl and coat them with oil, seasoning, and garlic powder. I love to use this OXO basting and a pastry brush to ensure each piece is well coated with oil and seasoning.
Pre-heat air fryer to 400F/200C. Let it run empty for a minute or two.
Lightly grease air fryer basket or tray with spray oil.
Arrange the daikon slices on the air fryer tray. Give them some space so they do not overlap.
Air fry mode at 400F (200C) for 5 minutes.
Open the air fryer, flip each daikon slice on the other side, and air fry for an additional 3-5 minutes or until golden brownish with caramelized crispy edges.
Taste and lightly salt if desired and season with fresh parsley.

  1. Can you use frozen fries? I just got the Breville convection oven/air fryer . It has a long basket so the drippings go on the drip tray on the bottom? What if the oil hits the heating coils? Is it ok? I am very new to all this so excuse my stupid questions.

Can I make a pot roast with my own recipe & put it in a corning ware or pan? I can just use the convection ?

    1. HI Marlene. Yes, you can use frozen fries. Yes, the drippings should go on the drip tray and you can line it with aluminum foil for an easy cleanup.Few drippings on heating coils is ok but it is better to have drippings collected by a drip tray. Yes, you can absolutely do a pot roast and yes you can put a pan or a corning ware in the air fryer.
