Air Fryer Omelette with Ham, Cheese, and Tomatoes

This air fryer omelet recipe is my new favorite way to make a heavenly and fluffy omelet without babysitting the hot stove. Made with layers of ham, cheese, tomatoes, and green onions for an unbeatable combination of savory flavors, I love how there’s no mess or fuss when it comes to creating this dish. All you have to do is pop everything in the air fryer and wait for a beautiful breakfast to appear! My other breakfast favorites made in minutes are Air Fryer Frittata and Air Fryer Quiche.

How to make an Omelette in the Air Fryer

supplies needed to make an amelette in the air fryer
  1. Pre-heat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C)
  2. Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk in the salt and pepper to taste. Then add your toppings, such as ham, cheese, and chopped tomatoes.
  3. Whisk the mixture lightly and pour it into an oil-sprayed baking pan. You can line the baking pan with parchment paper if you prefer. Pictures 2 and 3.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes for a perfectly cooked fluffy omelet, until it is cooked through. Around 6-7 minutes until the omelet is firmer (medium) and 8-10 minutes for a well-done omelet. Because we’re all different and like our eggs cooked to our preferred doneness.

Is an Air-fried Omelette healthy?

Yes! An air fryer allows you to “fry” an omelette without needing to use oil or butter. This not only makes the dish healthier, but it also keeps it light and crisp – no soggy bits here! I love how an air-fried omelet provides a gives touch of crunchy texture that a regular or baked omelet doesn’t have.

Packed with all the same protein and flavor as traditional egg dishes, this air-fried omelette recipe contains much less fat and fewer calories. With relatively few modifications to your favorite recipes, air-frying can also help improve the nutrition profile of your meals and make them healthier than ever before. More air fryer egg recipes.

Other Toppings for Omelette

With omelets, the possibilities and combinations of toppings are nearly endless. From the traditional onion and bell peppers to the more creative smoked salmon and goat cheese, tailor your omelet toppings to your individual taste. Try crumbled feta with spinach for a Greek-inspired omelet or cubes of ham with mushrooms; experiment with shredded cheddar and tomatoes or Monterey jack with your favorite chili pepper.

  1. I made an omelet following this recipe, but it took way longer than 5 minutes in the air fryer. I had to finish it in the oven because the underside was still raw after almost 10 minutes in the air fryer. I think I will cook the omelet in the air fryer without the cheese, and add the cheese, just to brown on top, once it’s fully cooked.

    1. I love this recipe. I add whatever I have in the fridge from kielbasa to ham and veggies. It’s a quick meal any time if the day.

  2. Can someone please explain to me how this is an omelette? I’m new to air fryer cooking and I thought an omelette was always folded over eggs.

    1. Welcome! With an air fryer the omelet doesn’t have to be folded. It can be an open-faced omelette if you wish. I hope you enjoy it.

I just wanted to say that I’m loving your recipes for the airfryer and I’ve tried a few! Was going to give my airfryer the boot until i found you, so thank you.

    1. Thank you! I’m so glad you’re planning to try it soon. And great suggestion—yes, if using bacon, pre-cooking it will ensure it’s crispy and fully cooked in the omelette. Let me know how it turns out for you! 😊
