I know I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—I love my air fryer! It’s unlocked so many delicious low-carb recipes my whole family enjoys. The first time I made Air Fryer Salt and Vinegar Chicken Wings, I wasn’t sure if the bold, tangy flavor would work—but one crispy, zesty bite proved me wrong! Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (wingettes and drumettes)
  • ½ cup distilled white vinegar
  • ½ cup malt vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1½ tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons dry ranch mix
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (or Monk Fruit 1:1 sugar substitute for a keto-friendly version)
  • 1 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar (optional, for added depth of flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Wings: In a large resealable plastic bag or glass bowl, combine all ingredients. Add the chicken wings, ensuring they’re fully submerged in the marinade. Seal and refrigerate for 2-4 hours; longer marination enhances the flavor.
I added all the above ingredients plus 1/2 cup of Balsamic vinegar to my Salt & Vinegar Wings marinade.
  1. Prepare for Cooking: After marinating, drain the wings and pat them dry with paper towels. Let them sit for about 15 minutes to reach room temperature.
  2. Air Fry the Wings: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray or brush the wings with olive oil. Arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they’re not overcrowded. Cook for 20 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through at the 10-minute mark, until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  3. Serve: Once done, remove the wings and serve warm with your preferred dipping sauce.

Serving Suggestions

These wings make a great appetizer or main dish. Pair them with sides like Air-fried onion rings, or Jalapeño Poppers. For a lighter option, consider Air-fried broccoli, green beans, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.

Pair Your Wings with Homemade Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce!

For the perfect finishing touch, try a creamy, tangy homemade blue cheese dipping sauce. Just mix:

  • ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
