Serving suggestions

Bacon-wrapped steak bites are awesome on their own, but if you want to take things up a notch, pair them with some fun sides or dipping sauces. They go great with creamy mashed potatoes, Air-fried fries, or a Fresh Cucumber Salad to balance things out. For dips, you can’t go wrong with garlic butter, ranch, or a spicy BBQ sauce. If it’s a party, throw them on a platter with some veggie sticks or cheesy bread—instant crowd-pleaser! Honestly, though, they’re so good you might just eat them straight off the plate. No judgment!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes! You can prep the steak bites by marinating the steak and wrapping it in bacon ahead of time. Keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to cook.

What type of steak should I use?
Tender cuts like sirloin, filet mignon, or ribeye work best, as they stay juicy and flavorful when cooked.

Will bacon shrink?
Yes, bacon does shrink when cooking, especially when wrapping it around steak bites. As the bacon cooks, the fat renders and causes it to contract. To minimize the shrinkage, you can slightly under-wrap the steak, so there’s enough bacon to stay around the steak as it shrinks. If you use thick-cut bacon, you can also partially cook the bacon before wrapping, which will help it crisp up faster and reduce the amount of shrinkage. Just keep in mind that thick-cut bacon may take a bit longer to cook, so you might need to adjust the cooking time slightly, depending on how crispy you want the bacon.

How do I keep the bacon from falling off?
Secure the bacon with toothpicks! They hold everything together and are easy to remove before serving.

Can I add seasoning or sauces?
Definitely! You can season the steak with garlic, pepper, or paprika before wrapping, or brush the bites with BBQ sauce, honey, or garlic butter during cooking for extra flavor.

Can I use turkey bacon instead?
Yes, turkey bacon works too! Just keep an eye on it, as it might cook faster than regular bacon.

Are these keto-friendly?
Totally! As long as you avoid sugary sauces or glazes, bacon-wrapped steak bites are a great low-carb option.

How do I store leftovers?
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat them in the air fryer for 2 minutes per side or oven to keep them crispy.

Notes

Tips

1. Choose a tender cut of beef, like filet mignon, ribeye, New York strip, skirt steak, porterhouse or T-bone.
2. Do not overcrowd your air fryer basket. Make sure that there’s room around each steak bite to cook in the air fryer.
3. Store steak bites in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. Use within 3-4 days or freeze to reheat for later.
4. Keep in mind that bacon shrinks during cooking.
5. If you are concerned about overcooking the steak, pre-cook bacon separately for 4-5 minutes, just before it hardens and gets crispy.
6. Use regular cut bacon or a thin cut. If using a thick cut of bacon, pre-cook bacon for 5 minutes, then wrap each steak piece.
