Making air fryer egg toast is a quick and easy way to enjoy a nutritious meal. Because air fryers cook food without the need for oil, it is a healthier option than traditional frying methods. The air fryer egg in a toast is perfect for those mornings when you don't have a lot of time to spare but still want something hearty and satisfying. Plus, it only requires a few simple ingredients that you likely already have on hand, like a piece of bread and an egg.
Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (170°C). While it is preheating, begin preparing your bread.
Using the bottom of a mug (or glass), gently press into the center of the bread, to create a pocket. Be sure not to press all the way through the bread, or else the egg may leak down through the air fryer.
Apply butter on both sides of the bread.
Crack one egg into each bread pocket.
Season with salt and pepper to taste and any seasoning of choice. I used Italian seasoning.
Carefully place the slice of bread directly onto the air fryer basket/tray. Close the air fryer basket and cook for 5-7 minutes, depending on how you like your yolks.
Notes
Egg Cooking TimesI love my egg yolk runny, therefore 5-6 minutes of cooking time was perfect for my runny egg on toast. If you prefer your egg yolk firmer, cook for an additional 2 minutes.Keep in mind that these cooking times may vary depending on the size and model of your air fryer. The model that I’m using is Cuisinart Air Fryer Oven. With a little bit of practice, you'll be able to cook eggs perfectly in your air fryer every time.
