Air fryer onion potatoes made with Lipton onion soup mix recipe is one of the most buttery and flavorful dishes you'll ever try! By cooking them in the air fryer, potatoes become golden and crisp on the outside and wonderfully tender on the inside, bursting with rich onion flavor.
Cut the potatoes into wedges, approximately 1-inch cubes
Rinse: I always give my potatoes a quick rinse with cold water until the water is clear. This helps to rid of the starch. Alternatively, you can soak the potatoes in cold water for 10 minutes
Pat them dry and transfer to a large bowl
Season: Add oil, salt & pepper to taste, sliced onion, minced garlic, and one packet of Lipton Onion soup mix.
Mix all the ingredients to combine. Let sit for 5 minutes.
Preheat: While the potatoes are absorbing all the flavors, preheat your air fryer to 390°F (198°C) on air-fry/air crisp setting.
Add to basket: Place the potatoes directly in the basket (or tray) of the air fryer and cook for 12-15 minutes depending on size.
Flip: Be sure to set the timer and flip (shake) them every 5 minutes.
Check: After 12 minutes, check for doneness and crispiness and determine whether you need to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. I cook potatoes in the air fryer a lot and 12 minutes is optimal timing at 390F.
