This Air Fryer Cabbage recipe is a quick and easy way to get the vegetables crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Enjoy the air-fried cabbage as a low-carb side dish or add it to eggrolls, steaks, cabbage pies, or soups!I love adding onion to my air fryer cabbage recipe because it caramelizes beautifully, adding a sweet, savory flavor that pairs perfectly with the crispy, tender cabbage.
Prepare the Vegetables:Remove any wilted outer leaves from the cabbage, then slice it into thin wedges or strips, about 1/2-inch wide. If using an onion, peel it and slice it into similar-sized wedges or rings to match the cabbage pieces. See picture for reference.
Season & Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C)In a large mixing bowl, toss the cabbage (and onions, if using) with oil. Add salt & pepper to taste, and a teaspoon of spices of your choice, such as garlic powder or paprika, and toss to combine. You may instead add a teaspoon of your favorite seasoning. I used Vegeta All-Purpose seasoning.
Place the seasoned cabbage and onion in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd, as the pieces need space to crisp up. You might need to cook in batches if you’re making a lot.Cook for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through, to ensure even cooking. The cabbage should be tender with crispy, caramelized edges, and the onions should be golden and slightly sweet. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious flavors!
Serve and Enjoy:Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy immediately. These make a fantastic side dish or topping for grain bowls, tacos, or just a simple snack!
