Ingredients

  • 1 pound Asparagus bunch about 20 pieces
  • 2 Teaspoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Avocado oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Rinse asparagus and pat dry
Cut off about 1 or 2 inches of the stems of Asparagus
Toss asparagus in a bowl with olive oil and seasoning
  • Place the seasoned asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding, as this can lead to uneven cooking. If you have a lot of asparagus, consider cooking them in batches.
  • Cook the asparagus on air fry (air crisp) mode for about 7-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the stalks and your air fryer model, so keep an eye on them.
  • Enjoy the crunch while it's warm! Air-fried asparagus makes a versatile side dish that pairs well with various main courses. It complements everything from grilled chicken and steak to pasta and fish.

Notes

Variations

Experiment with different seasonings. Garlic powder, parmesan cheese, and lemon zest can add a delightful twist to your air-fried asparagus. For a spicy kick, try adding some red pepper flakes or paprika.
Marinate for extra flavor. If you have a bit more time, marinating your asparagus for at least 30 minutes before air frying can infuse even more flavor. A mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, and herbs makes for a fantastic marinade.
Sauces and dips. Enhance your air-fried asparagus with a flavorful dip or sauce. A Creamy Garlic Chipotle sauce or tangy balsamic glaze can take your dish to the next level.
Try Bacon-wrapped Asparagus. The combination of crispy bacon and tender asparagus, cooked in an air fryer, elevates this dish to a new level of culinary magic.
For an extra crunch, sprinkle some toasted nuts or seeds over your finished asparagus. Almonds, pine nuts, or sesame seeds add both texture and flavor.

How to store and reheat

Air-fried asparagus is not freezer-friendly because it loses its lovely crunch and color. So it’s best when you savor it fresh. However, if you have any leftover air-fried asparagus, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They should stay fresh for up to 3 days.
It's also delicious cold. To reheat, place the asparagus back in the air fryer for a few minutes until they are warmed through and crispy again. Avoid microwaving, as this can make them soggy.
